DETOXIFYING CLAY MASK

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

The Detoxifying Clay Mask is a multi-functional, clay-based hybrid cleansing treatment that combines oil-absorbing clay, activated charcoal, and mild surfactants to effectively remove buildup while maintaining the hair’s moisture balance.

Unlike traditional clarifying shampoos that rely solely on stronger surfactants and can leave the hair feeling stripped, this mask uses a combination approach. The clay and activated charcoal help bind to excess oil, impurities, and product residue, allowing them to be easily lifted and rinsed away from the scalp and hair without excessive dryness.

It is especially effective for removing dense, occlusive buildup such as waxy, buttery, or paste-like residue formed from accumulated oils, butters, sebum, sweat, and styling products that mild or moisturizing shampoos may struggle to fully cleanse. At the same time, it helps maintain softness and manageability during and after cleansing.

For a deeper cleanse, pair with our Moisture Retention Shampoo to leave the hair thoroughly clean while still feeling balanced, soft, and manageable without being stripped.

HOW TO USE

• Thoroughly rinse hair and leave hair drenched!

• Apply our Detoxifying Clay Mask to your palms, rub your palms together, then apply to sectioned hair, working it thoroughly into the scalp and along the hair strands.

• Massage the scalp and hair as you would when shampooing to help lift buildup.

• Leave on for 10-20 minutes

• Rinse and remove all of the Mask with warm water! When the Clay Mask is fully removed, begin the shampoo process!

We do not recommend steaming while the Clay Mask is penetrating the hair and scalp.

Usage Guide:

• Use alone to remove heavy buildup

• For a deeper cleanse, follow up with the Moisture Retention Shampoo

• For regular wash days without heavy buildup, use your Moisture Retention Shampoo or Shampoo Bar instead

‼️This product is ideal for a deep detox every 3–4 weeks or whenever you need to manage product buildup.

KEY INGREDIENTS AND THEIR ROLES

Kaolin Clay
A gentle clay that helps absorb excess oil and cleanse the scalp without stripping the hair of moisture.

Activated Charcoal
A highly porous ingredient that helps adsorb impurities, excess oil, and product buildup from the scalp and hair, supporting a deeper cleanse.

Coco Glucoside
A mild, non-ionic surfactant derived from coconut and sugar that helps gently cleanse the scalp and hair while improving the spreadability and rinse-off of the mask.

Cocamidopropyl Betaine
A mild amphoteric surfactant derived from coconut oil that enhances cleansing, boosts foam, and helps reduce the potential harshness of other cleansing agents.

Propanediol
A plant-derived humectant and solvent that helps attract and retain moisture in the hair, improves texture and spreadability, and enhances the penetration of other ingredients.

Vegetable Glycerin
A natural humectant derived from plant oils that draws moisture into the hair, helping maintain hydration, improve softness, and reduce dryness.

Menthol
Provides a cooling sensation that helps soothe the scalp and improve comfort during use.
